Wasantha Mudalige was remanded until January 31

The convener of the Inter-University Students' Federation (IUSF), Wasantha Mudalige, was today further remanded till January 31 by the Colombo Chief Magistrate's Court for allegedly committing offences under the Prevention of Terrorism Act (PTA).   Chief Magistrate Prasanna Alwis announced that the order regarding the bail application submitted on behalf of Wasantha Mudalige would be delivered on January 31.   Mudalige was detained under the PTA for 90 days under a Detention Order issued by President Ranil Wickremesinghe in his capacity as the Minister of Defence.
