Salary anomalies of teachers resolved

The government today agreed to resolve thecurrent salary anomalies of teachers and principals in one attempt, rather than dragging it and paying the dues in three installments, Union leaders said Ceylon Teachers' Service Union President Mahinda Jayasinghe told journalists that Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa and Finance Minister Basil Rajapaksa had given an undertaking to the Trade Unions to resolve the issue immediately. The Union Leaders met with the Prime Minister and the Finanance Minister at the Parliamentary complex. "The long drawn trade union struggle has ended on a successful note" Union Leaders said.
