The magistrate court has ordered DNA tests on Dinesh Shafter's body parts.

The Colombo Chief Magistrate's Court today ordered the Government Analyst to conduct DNA tests on the blood samples and other body parts of businessman Dinesh Schaffter.

Rajindra Jayasuriya made this order pursuant to a request made by CID. The CID informed the court that they intend to request a DNA report pertaining to businessman Dinesh Schaffter's body parts and other samples collected from the crime scene.

The DNA tests are to be performed on the samples of blood, hair, and nails of Dinesh Schaffter and other materials collected from the crime scene.

The CID said they are conducting investigations to determine whether the businessman's death was a homicide or a suicide.
