LG elections put off indefinitely?

The Secretary of the Treasury has informed the Chairman of the Election Commission that the government is unable to allocate money for the local government elections owing to the prevailing economic crisis in the country.

He has also pointed out that state expenditures have been restricted to only essential expenses.

He has also told the Election Commission that all non-essential expenditures have to be approved by the Finance Minister.
