IUSF convener Wasantha Mudalige was released by the Colombo Chief Magistrate.

The convener of the Inter University Students' Federation (IUSF), Wasantha Mudalige, was today released by the Colombo Chief Magistrate's Court in connection with a case filed for allegedly committing offenses under the Prevention of Terrorism Act (PTA).

Chief Magistrate Prasanna Alwis held that charges leveled under PTA are not applicable to Wasantha Mudalige. The magistrate further said the prosecution has created evidence to misuse the provisions of the PTA.
