Government turns to China for financial support.

The Government has requested for US$ one billion loan from China and another US$ 1.5 billion credit line from China. Diplomatic sources said. Chinese ambassador in Colombo Qi Zhenhong told reporters in Colombo on Monday that China is considering a $1 billion loan and a $1.5 billion credit line to purchase goods from China.
