Councillor charged for threatening Municipal Treasure

Employees attached to the administrative staff of the Colombo Municipal Council staged a protest near the Town Hall today against a councillor allegedly accused of threatening the Municipal Treasurer. Later in the day, the Police arrested the Councilor concerned Mohomed Ramsay on the purported charge after recording a statement. The suspect was produced before the Magistrate and released on surety bail of Rs 50,000
