SJB prepares to vote against the DDR proposal in Parliament.

The main opposition party, Samagi Jana Bala Wegaya, has decided to vote against the domestic debt restructuring programme when it comes up for voting on Sunday.

Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa was present yesterday at the Public Finance Committee meeting on the condition that he could not raise questions.

The SJB feels that the domestic restructuring would in some way affect the EPF and ETF funds, though the government has not expressly made any comments.
