President invites political parties to join the government

President Gotabaya Rajapaksa has extended an invitation to all political parties represented in parliament to join hands with him to form an all-party government to seek solutions for the present crisis. The President had invited the parties to accept ministerial portfolios and work together. Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa has, however, rejected the offer. The SJB has decided to refrain from joining any coalition or caretaker government.
