Parliament is neglecting the reasons for the peoples’ protest

National Peoples Power MP Dr Harini Amarasuriya said that parliament is neglecting the causes and reasons for the peoples’ protest. Speaking during the debate on the vote to approve the state of emergency she told parliament that there has to be a threat to national security or public security for emergency to be declared and that these conditions have not been fulfilled for it.
