Online liquor sales to be permitted?

The Excise Department is exploring the possibility resuming liquor sales through online facilities provided by the supermarkets. A proposal to this effect has been submitted to the Ministry of Finance to allow consumers to buy liquor online through supermarket chains,sources of the Excise Department said. This proposal has been submitted in the wake of numerous queries received by this office from the general public, he added He said that due to the closure of the liquor outlets government is losing heavily which otherwise would have gone to the government coffers.
