The Linear Accelerator Machine at Apeksha Hospital is out of order

The Linear Accelerator machine at Apeksha Hospital in Maharagama that provides radiation treatment for small children has been inactive for two weeks.

Radiation treatment for the children at the hospital has completely stopped, and the parents of these children are under stress owing to this unexpected situation.

Over 10 - 12 children diagnosed with leukaemia receive this treatment daily at the hospital.

Radiologists Association says that the Ministry has not reached a service agreement at the purchase of the machine, and the hospital has to incur the cost of repairs.
