A fatal accident in Vavuniya claimed the lives of a mother and daughter

A mother and daughter who were waiting for a bus at Parayanalankulam, in Vavuniya, died on the spot after being run over by a tipper yesterday (15) morning.

The deceased have been identified as Sivalokanathan Subokini, 36, and N Dinusika, 6, and they are residents of Kannatti in Parayanalankulam.

Both of them had been waiting for the bus on the road opposite their house when the mishap occurred.

Eyewitnesses to the accident said that another boy who had seen the tipper speeding towards them had run away and escaped.
