Moratuwa Mayor's bail application rejected

The bail application filed by Moratuwa Mayor Samanlal Fernando has been rejected by the Moratuwa Additional Magistrate. The Moratuwa Magistrate's Court remanded the Mayor on a charge of obstructing the vaccination programme of the Medical Officer of Health. Mayor Fernando insisted that preference should be given to the people to whom he has issued tokens,which was rejected by the Medical Officer in charge of vaccination.

Initially, the Magistrate remanded the Mayor until the 11th of June.
