Ali Zahir Moulana is the new MP for the Batticaloa district

The Election Commission today issued an extraordinary gazette notification appointing SLMC member Ali Zahir Moulana Seiyad as a Member of Parliament for the Batticaloa electoral district. The Election Commission appointed Moulana as an MP following the disqualification of former Minister Naseer Ahamed's parliament seat. The Parliament Secretary General informed the Election Commission yesterday that a vacancy has occurred in the Ninth Parliament with the disqualification of MP  Nazeer Ahamed's parliamentary seat.
