AG directs Police to arrest Policemen involved in the assault

The Attorney General has directed the Inspector General of Police to arrest and produce before a Magistrate the suspected Policemen involved in the assault of a Law student. Migara Gunaratna a final year Law student was recently assaulted inside the Peliyagoda Police when visited the Police Station to see a suspect. President of the Bar Association of Sri Lanka subsequently wrote to the Attorney General requesting him to take immediate action according to the law against Police brutality
